Barack, Baby

The symbolism of this picture gives me a tremendous sense of—ack, the word that drove many nuts throughout the long campaign—HOPE.

Hi! I was wanted to say hello to the blog that jumped in front of ours on the FBI:) We actually went on the waiting list on the 31st too! I love that we share that day and we both have baby girls in Ethiopia.

Hi there Meredith! (I'm such an embarassingly avid reader of your blog that this feels as if a movie star that I'm only used to seeing on the big screen has suddenly landed in my real life.)

Hooray for July 31st! The dawn of a new day! Now all we really need is a double dose of baby.

I LOVE this picture! And I love your writing style... time for me to revamp and figure out where I started so long ago when my husband and I started on this journey.

Wouldn't it be amazing if you, Meredith and I all traveled at the same time?!

Holy smokes....

Dandies in the Sunshine in the house!

This is all too overwhelming for me. Literally, there were times when I was crawling to your blogs, desperate to know there was someone out there similarly overwhelmed. And now here you all are.

I'd do just about anything to travel with some good people who understand that there's nothing unusual about a couple boarding a plane with tearful eyes, deplaning with tearful eyes, blinking tearful tears of snotty gratitude all over town, and getting back on a plane with tearful eyes. Plus, someone needs to teach me to swaddle! And coo! And not burst into happy tears every time a baby nom noms on her banana. Uh oh, I'm making myself sound like a mess!

Enjoy the journey Mama Dog---and remember, it's your baby and you can cry if you wanna (infact, when you feel like crying, we're here holding cyber-kleenex for ya)!
